Step 5: Remove Any Unnecessary Hardware and Software
After you have successfully migrated, you should remove any unnecessary hardware and software. This is only relevant if you're dismantling the old DECnet SNA Gateway once the new Access Server
Gateway is in place and fully tested.
There are two major steps to this process:
- Disconnect the DECnet SNA Gateway-ST or DECnet SNA Gateway-CT hardware from your network.
- Remove the DECnet SNA Gateway software from the load host(s).
NOTE
- There is no UNINSTALL procedure available with the DECnet SNA Gateway software. To remove the software, you must manually delete each file that was installed and remove references to the startup
procedures from the system startup file or SYSMAN utility. Refer to the installation guide for the DECnet SNA Gateway for the list of files that were installed.
