Making CGI films with OpenVMS

I make CGI films—3D computer graphics and animation. I am developing network render farm software with free persistence of Vision Raytracer (POV-Ray) software. Scene modeling is done on a Power Mac G5 running Blender and POV-Ray software, and scenes and frames are rendered on the HP OpenVMS render farm. Final images are output to tape with a DPS personal animation recorder on a Pentium Pro 200 workstation.

I am continually working on the control software for the render farm and plan on adding a few more VAX and AlphaServer systems to the render farm in the future. My goal is to one day make a completely computer-generated film entirely with Open Source software. Becasue this is a hobby, I do not always get to spend as much time on the project as I would like.
