Version 3.1 release notes

The Availability Manager evolved from the
								OpenVMS product. Version 3.1 provides
kits for both Windows and OpenVMS operating
								systems.

The focus of the Availability Manager is to monitor OpenVMS nodes in an extended LAN. This
monitoring can be done from either a Windows or an OpenVMS system.

The Availability Manager includes the following new features:

             - Support for collecting data over a wide area network (WAN))

              - Ability to install the OpenVMS Data Analyzer/Server kit on a non-system disk

              - New columns in the System Overview windows to show page fault rates and the number of processes in PFW and COM states

              - Display data from Logical Disk (LDcn:) devices

			  - Fixes to force a disk volume or shadow set member into mount verify timeout

Please refer to the most recent version of the Availability Manager
documentation and release notes for more detailed information.

Note on memory usage for running the Data Analyzer on OpenVMS:
            HP has found that the
Availability Manager runs well using the default configuration when
            you monitor approximately 20 nodes.
You might, however, need to monitor more nodes or to open several node
displays simultaneously. If you find that the software runs more slowly,
you might need more memory to run the Availability Manager
            efficiently.
             The installation instructions explain
how to change memory. For example, setting the initial heap size to
40MB and the maximum heap size to 100MB is a good starting place.
