Performance Data Collector (TDC) Version 2.1

The Performance Data Collector for HP OpenVMS (TDC) Version 2.1 gathers performance data for AlphaServers running OpenVMS Version 7.3-2 or 8.2 or for Integrity servers running OpenVMS Industry Standard 64 Version 8.2 or 8.2-1. By default, TDC periodically collects and stores data in a file. Subsequently, user applications can retrieve data from the file.

System managers: The software download link (updated March, 2006) provides a kit to update the Performance Data Collector software (TDC_RT) installed with OpenVMS Versions 8.2 and 8.2-1. You can also use this kit to install Performance Data Collector software on OpenVMS Version 7.3-2 Alpha systems. Be sure to review the installation guide before installing the software.

Software developers: A TDC Software Developers Kit (SDK) is included in the downloadable kit available at the software download link and can, optionally be installed with the TDC software. TDC provides an API that you can use to control all aspects of the data collection process; this API facilitates integration of your own code with TDC to perform tasks not handled by TDC out-of-the-box (for example, collecting additional data, utilizing collected data with or without first storing it in a file, and analyzing data). Using the SDK to incorporate TDC into customer applications is supported and encouraged by HP. The TDC technical overview can help you get started; you can download it and other programming documentation by following the software download link. (The documentation is also included in the SDK.)

For any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, please contact your HP OpenVMS customer support representative.
