New—HP MRU supports Integrity servers, AlphaServer systems, and VAX systems
HP Media Robot Utility (MRU) provides direct robotic control of your tape
libraries, mini-libraries, and tape loaders. HP MRU is available for
OpenVMS, Tru64 UNIX, and Windows.
HP MRU provides you with the ability to load or unload any tape
cartridge from the library or loader from your desk, without pushing
buttons on the front panel of the device. HP MRU "pushes them"
for you.
HP customers with libraries or loaders can use HP MRU to:
- Populate the device with cartridges
- Check the device to ensure that it is working properly
- Embed HP MRU commands within procedures to automate functions using
the library or loader
HP MRU has a graphical user interface, an application programming interface
(API), and a command-line interface.
