The Question is: I have a similar problem to the "HP Blank Extra Pages" scenero that I found on your site. I am running Multinet to communicate to 60 HP printers. We recently upgraded to version 4.1 of the Multinet s/w (Y2K compliant) and now get blank extra pages between every reporting page. This occurs because the software (Oracle SQL*Reportwritter) that produces the report adds a form feed character to the end of every page, reguardless if sixty lines print on the page or not. The printer or symbiont automatically forces a feed feed at end of page. Thus causing the extra blank page. Will the procedure described in the above artical resolve my problem or is something else required. Process S/W (Multinet) seem un able to resolve the problem. The Answer is : Questions on other IP stacks should be routed to the vendor supporting the particular package. The approach mentioned in the response is specific to TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS (UCX), and to any package that closely mimics the behaviour of UCX. Assuming that a test with your existing software does not satisfy your needs, then the Wizard would suggest loading and trying UCX and seeing if that solves your requirements -- many recent OpenVMS systems are sold with a software licensing package that includes a UCX or NAS license, permitting the use of UCX.
