The Question is: We are migrating from VMS towards UNIX. In addition to this migration we are also exhanging DECnet for TCP/IP. During this migration there is a need to connect a old VAX system (running VMS and DECnet) with a new system (running TCP/IP). This old VAX system will become obsolete, so we don't have the intention to add TCP/IP to this system, because then we have to upgrade VMS as well. Our question is, is there a gateway solution for communication between DECnet and TCP/IP? Regards, Arjon Vlasblom VTAS Automation Services The Answer is : DECnet and IP are completely unrelated and seperate protocols. The gateway solution could certainly involve a system that has both DECnet and IP configured, or could involve installing an IP package on the existing OpenVMS system.
