upgrading from V5.5-2 to V6.1?

The Question is:

 
reading the release notes on VMS 6.1, can I upgrade to this platform from
5.5-2 (it says I can) on a Microvax 3100. I want to do it from CD via an
infoserver where the infoserver and the microvax are on their own seperate
LAN.

The Answer is :

 
  You will want to read the OpenVMS FAQ for the upgrade paths available
  to you, you will want to read the upgrade and installation manual to
  learn how to correctly upgrade the system, and you will want to believe
  the note in the documentation that says you can perform this upgrade.
