$brkthru works, but returns SS$_DEVOFFLINE?

The Question is:

 
I'm having an odd problem with the $BRKTHRU system service. When I call the
service with the flags BRK$C_USERNAME and BRK$M_CLUSTER.
 
In the case where the specified user is logged into a node on the cluster
but NOT the node the $BRKTHRU is being called on I get SS$_DEVOFFLINE status
returned in the IOSB even though the message is delivered to the user on the
other node.
 
If the user is logged into the same node there's no problem.
 
Is this expected behaviour?

The Answer is :

 
  Though other nodes in the cluster may have received and processed the
  request, the $brkthru returns a status (only) for the local node in
  the IOSB.  (This behaviour of the IOSB is actually documented, but is
  admittedly rather obscure...)
