Shadowing, BACKUP, and FEX (File Exists) errors?

The Question is:

 
Why do I see errors of "file already exists not superseded" when moving a
shadowed disk's files to a volume set using "backup dev1:[000000...]*.*;*
dev2:[000000...] /noinit"  ?
 
This is not for every file, just files in the roots of directories that are
very large (i.e. 01cms.cms).
 
 

The Answer is :

 
   This appears rather odd, and will likely require additional information.
   (The Wizard will assume that the files do, in fact, not exist on the target
   volume.)  Please check to see that you are running the current shadowing
   ECO kit, and then please contact the customer support center.  Expect to
   be asked about the shadowing ECO level, the type of disks involved, the
   disk drive firmware level (if appropriate), etc.
