DECnet DAP errors?

The Question is:

 
I keep receiving a BUG_DAP error when trying to open a RMS file accross a
netwrok.
 
The DAP_CODE = !XL
 
any idea of why this is.  When this same software resided on a vax system.
I never had this problem.  I do have a new network though...any ideas?

The Answer is :

 
  A DAP error is a low-level data access protocol error, and can point
  to hardware or software problem.
 
  Please contact the customer support center, as there is not enough
  information on the particular error(s) arising here.  Expect to be
  asked if this is DECnet-Plus or DECnet Classic, what sort of remote
  system(s) are involved, what DECnet ECOs are in use, what sorts of
  relevent errors are written to the error log, what sort of network
  controller and hardware is involved, etc.
