The Question is: I am using ftp to get a file from VMS (about which I am completely ignorant) to NT. I want to get the oldest file generation, and believe that there is an option to get to do this; i.e. get filename.ext;?? can you please let me know the exact syntax to us e. Many Thanks, John. The Answer is : The version number ;-0 is the syntax used to specify the oldest file version currently in existence for the specified file. Windows NT does not support file version numbers, and the FTP tool in question may or may not support the specification of a version number.
