F11XQP and RMS ECOs and tape density?

The Question is:

 
Mr. Wizard,
 
I have installed the F11XQP and RMS ECO kits
as you recommended and it fixed our crash/reboot
during backups but now the problem I have is
that I seem to have lost high density
capability.  The backups used to backup all
our disks with room to spare and now after
just backing up two disks the backups prompt
for another tape.  We should fit all four disks
on one 8mm tape.  Any ideas?

  Expect to be asked the specifics of the 8mm tape drive in use, the
  specific type of system, the SCSI controller, the exact BACKUP command
