Problems with MONITOR recording filename?

The Question is:

 
An attempt to use the monitor utility to record
performance data using the following command
results in an error caused by the first four characters
of the filename being 'missed off':
 
MONITOR MODES/RECORD=filename
 
Any suggestions ?
