tracking image activity?

The Question is:

 
Dear Wizard,
 
I have a need to track the usage of a particular image to make sure that
we can remove the application confidently knowing that nobody has used it.
 
There is one, lotus123, that we believe not to be used anymore but I noticed
a process using it last night.
 
Is there a way of viewing how many time it has been used and by whom?

The Answer is :

 
  Consider enabling per-image accounting.
 
  Use:
 
    INSTALL ADD <imagename>/ACCOUNT
 
  on the specified image.
 
  Then use the accounting file to track activity.
