The Question is: We have a remote site with a Digital LN17ps printer. This is it: $ sh que agh*/fu Printer queue AGH$PRINT, busy, on NSABP2::"IP_RawTCP/199.234.8.189:2501", mounted form DEFAULT255 (stock=DEFAULT) /BASE_PRIORITY=4 /DEFAULT=(FORM=DEFAULT255 (stock=DEFAULT)) /NOENABLE_GENERIC /LIBRARY=DCPS_LIB Lowercase /OWNER=[SYSTEM] /PROCESSOR=DCPS$SMB /PROTECTION=(S:M,O:D,G:R,W:S) /SCHEDULE=(NOSIZE) /SEPARATE=(FLAG) We are running V1.4 of dcps. We continually have problems with the printer going off line for no apparent reason. It appears to loose the connection after a successful print job, as if the last job locks the printer up. The printer is unattended, and does run out of paper for long periods of time, and a lot of the jobs are 500+ pages. The ip given is behind a firewall, and we suspect this may be part of the problem. the logicals for this queue are: (LNM$SYSTEM_TABLE) "DCPS$AGH$PRINT_NO_SYNC" = "1" "DCPS$AGH$PRINT_PARAMETER" = "PAGE_OR=LANDSCAPE,input=lower_1" "DCPS$AGH$PRINT_PID" = "00003219" We have a second LN17 printer at another site which works fine. It is not behind a firewall. Are there other settings that we need or can use to prevent the loss of connection from this printer? thank you Gerald Swanson University of Pittsburgh 412-624-9945 fax:412-624-8717 swanson@ntsrvb.mckee.upmc.edu Have we missed some setup parameters?, or is there a problem with the firewall? The Answer is : Please contact the customer support center. Specific information on the configuration will be required. If possible, the Wizard suggests reconfiguring the printer (solely for testing purposes) to eliminate the firewall as a potential source of problems.
