The Question is: On a presentation that I came across on an Internet search, under the OPENVMS page, I found a "DIGITAL Enetrprise NT clusters Architecture" on Slide 8 of 31. I have Compaq 7000 servers running NT Enterprise 4.0. In them I have installed Emulex Light Pul se cards, running SCSI Protocol, and IP Protocol, over Fibre Channel "FABRIC". It is attached to a SAN through an ANCOR MKII Fibre Channel "SWITCH". What is represented on the slide in your presentation, (MULTI-SYSTEM CLUSTERS, and Distributed Lock Manager) is exactly what I am looking for. I have been unable to find the right person to talk to about this software. Can you please direct me to someon e. This need is immediate, as we are trying to start implementing by February. We are a "Compaq NT House" The Answer is : Upgrade to OpenVMS if your need for shared storage among Windows NT systems is immediate -- Contact Microsoft for their plans and schedule for the release of these capabilities in Windows NT. (The OpenVMS Wizard would expect this would not be available for Windows NT until well after the release of Windows NT 5.0.) OpenVMS can interoperate with Windows NT, and can provide services and clustering capabilities to Windows NT that Windows NT cannot provide for itself. The OpenVMS distributed lock manager and 96 node full-sharing clustering is readily available and is fully supported in OpenVMS. Further, OpenVMS and the applications have roughly ten years of successful and fully-shared cluster storage operations and experience at customer sites.
