The Question is: We are configuring pwprint queues on our Alpha system pointing to a NT Print server. We are receiving the following error: PWPRINTMGR> test que pwtst 24-NOV-1998 15:01:02.98 %PWPRINT-I-PRLOCNAM, Print location : 24-NOV-1998 15:01:02.98 MISJRN 24-NOV-1998 15:01:04.64 %PWPRINT-I-PCSERVER, PC Print Server running version: 24-NOV-1998 15:01:04.64 V3.00 24-NOV-1998 15:01:05.64 %PWPRINT-E-PCSERERR, Print server error received 24-NOV-1998 15:01:05.64 Error connecting to the printer - The network name cann t be found. We were successfull the first time printing with a network conection through NT. We can successfully print over a direct connection to LPT1. What could of caused the error for our network connection to the NT printserver ? And how can it be fixed. The Answer is : You have not provided enough information to the Wizard to determine what the particular problem may be. The Wizard can only offer a few ideas and suggestions: - You state "We were successful the first time printing with a network conection through NT." Does this indicate that you have successfully printed, once, using PWPrint? If yes, what has changed on the NT system or the Alpha system? - There is software that runs on both the OpenVMS Alpha system, and the Windows NT system. Have you installed the PWPrint software on Windows NT? (PATHWORKS 32 SETUP, custom installation) - By default, PWPrint on the Windows NT system is configured to use TCP/IP. Is this the transport being used on the OpenVMS Alpha system? If you are unable to get PWPrint working, the Wizard would recomend you contact the Compaq customer support center for assistance.
