The Question is: Does The Wizard know of any spool file -> HTML conversion utilities available? Or perhaps a DCL script in circ? Thanks for your time, Tim Johnston. The Answer is : The particular desired conversion is not immediately certain from your question. (Terse questions beget terse answers. Answers that may not be to the question that you thought you were asking...) The Freeware V4.0 includes a tool that converts an ASCII file into HTML, and a seperate symbiont that prints files to the null device. Combining the two is left up to the reader. (The Freeware V4.0 will be made available with the OpenVMS V7.2 release.) The basic conversion of ASCII to HTML is usually directly possible, adding a header and a footer to the file and the appropriate HTML pre and /pre tags. Extending an existing symbiont is also generally quite easy, and the same technique used to convert ASCII to HTML could certainly be used. The particulars of the reason for using a print symbiont for this conversion -- rather than a standalone tool -- as well as the mechanism for getting the converted output into a location where a webserver can access it -- are left up to the reader.
