The Question is: i have a network on two part connect with 2 routabt se and a france telecom line... On the first part to the network there's a micro vax 3100 running vms 7.1 ucx 4.1 e 8 on the second part a decrepeater a decserver 90 M... and a la30N printer connect onto the decsever... what are the right instruction to print from the vax to the printer between the router help is urgent thanks The Answer is : As this is reportedly an urgent question, please contact the customer support center directly -- there is insufficient information on the available local software to determine the best and most appropriate solution for remote printing in this configuration. Information on printing via reverse LAT is available in the OpenVMS documentation and in examples available on the OpenVMS kit, particularly SYS$STARTUP:LAT$STARTUP.COM and LAT$SYSTARTUP.*, and in the documentation on setting up print queues in the OpenVMS System Manager's manual. You mention a repeater and a router -- LAT will operate via a repeater, bridge, or brouter, but it will not operate via a router. LAT is not a routed protocol. (This is one of the reasons why the Wizard indicates that additional information is required.) Telnet and other protocols supported by the DECserver 90M are alternatives here, and TCP/IP protocols can be routed. Discussions of telnet-based printing are covered in the TCP/IP for OpenVMS (UCX) manuals, and there are various discussions of telnet printing here in Ask The Wizard.
