The Question is: During execution of a full backup, BACKUP waits a very long time for every encounter of a locked file (open for write). The /IGNORE=INTERLOCK qualifier is given. What could be the cause? What could I try to remedy the problem? Thank you and merry Christmas! The Answer is : The Wizard is not particularly familiar with the reported symptom. The Wizard will assume you are familiar with the perilous nature of the /IGNORE=INTERLOCK qualifier -- this is sometimes refered to as the (entirely hypothetical) /ALLOW=DATA_INCONSISTENCIES option. The Wizard will assume that you have applied any available BACKUP, RMS, XQP and locking-related ECO kits available for the particular release. The Wizard will also assume that an AUTOGEN pass -- with the cruft cleaned out of MODPARAMS.DAT per instructions elsewhere (search for cruft) -- to clear up various potential performance or lock tree resource limitations. Please contact the customer support center, as additional information on your configuration will be required.
