The Question is: We have a command procedure that does a "set host" to a remote system. The command procedure also passes in the username and password to be used for the signon process. This command procedure has worked for years with out a problem, but now returns the following error message: %REM-S-END, control returned to node _VAX1:: %RMS-W-RTB, 0 byte record too large for user's buffer Here is the command procedure: $ set host vax2 user password Nothing changed on the VAX systems in question. The Answer is : Please contact the customer support center. What changed on the remote (target) system, if anything? What is the remote system, what version, etc? There is an ECO for this (highly insecure) approach for certain OpenVMS releases -- there was an OpenVMS release that broke the ability to read the username and password from a file, and an ECO kit was subsequently issued.
