Deleting CMS element generation?

The Question is:

 
Can you tell me if it is possible to remove
a specific generation of an element
from a cms library.  I have tried the cms remove
and cms delete command, and that has not worked.

The Answer is :

 
  When requesting assistance, strenuously avoid using phrases such as
  "didn't work" or "has not worked" -- phrases such as these provide the
  Wizard with no information specific to the error(s), and little in the
  way of a specific problem description.  Also please remember to provide
  the exact command(s) used, the exact error message(s) generated (if any),
  and any other relevent information.  Version information of OpenVMS and
  of any relevent product(s) in question -- CMS, in this case -- is also
  generally required.
 
  The Wizard would suggest use of the CMS command DELETE GENERATION
  as a start.
