The Question is: As part of doing Y2K testing, we changed our system time to a future date and somebody reserved a file from CMS. Now when the system time is back to current time, CMS doesnot allow us to do any function. please help. The Answer is : You will need to use VERIFY/REPAIR to repair the CMS library, if you cannot restore it from a BACKUP made immediately prior to the Y2K testing. Use the DEFINE CMS$LIB mechanism to reference the CMS library, then issue the command CMS VERIFY/REPAIR. There are explicit directions on properly performing Y2K testing that are available at the OpenVMS website, directions that are expressly intended to avoid this and other similar situations.
