The Question is: Minor MAIL discrepancy: Hello- We have a cluster made up of two Alpha machines. If mail is sent within the cluster and only a username is specified, the FROM field shows up completely blank looking at a directory of messages. If you read the actual mail message itself, the FROM field does contain the username. However, if one of the node name is included along with the username, then the FROM field contains the username when you do a listing of mail messages. Is this correct behavior or is there a parameter that can be set so that the FROM field shows up regardless if the node is specified? A cluster alias has not been defined and we're using Decnet Phase IV. Also, have tried different settings for the mail$system_flags but that didn't have an impact. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark McGhee The Answer is : The Wizard has noticed various discussions of this topic in comp.os.vms, assuming that the answer that MAIL$SYSTEM_FLAGS logical name may be of interest here, please contact the customer support center for assistance. Expect to be asked the current settings of the MAIL$SYSTEM_FLAGS logical name, as well.
