The Question is: I need to find all the versions of the products on my Alpha's and the LMF displays everything as a zero version. The only two ways I have found versions is starting the software and invoking sho ver or typing the help file for a release number. Is there an easy way to find version numbers? Does VMS OS install all these products and list the versions in a cryptic format? The Answer is : Please see the existing discussions of this topic here in Ask The Wizard, such as "What products are Installed?", "What products do I need?" and "Determining which ECOs have been installed?". A license product authorization key (PAK) is what you are looking at in LMF, and a PAK can optionally be tied to a product version. Most PAKs are not tied to product versions. With OpenVMS Alpha systems, the two mechanisms used to determine the products and versions installed are the PRODUCT SHOW PRODUCT command and the VMSINSTAL.HISTORY database -- products are generally (but not always) installed with either PCSI (PRODUCT command) or with VMSINSTAL, and both of these tools provide historical information on OpenVMS Alpha.
