Seeking RAID storage suggestions?

The Question is:

 
I would like to use RAID 5 with an AlphaStation 500 and OpenVMS V7.1. Is the
KZPAC-AA a compatible device? The SOC doesn't mention it and the previous
'wizard' comment mentions compatibity with 'various' platforms.
 
Is there a better way to get to low cost RAID 5 on this system?
