The Question is: How can we get batch/print job entry numbers over 999? The Answer is : The job entry number is a text representation of an opaque longword value, and the algorithm used to determine the value is undocumented and subject to change. Job entry numbers of six digits or more are not unusual. Under the current algorithm, multiple queue managers or having many jobs active at a time can trigger the use of longer (opaque) job entry values.
