Cluster communications counters?

The Question is:

 
Is there any way for a program to get the number
of bytes transferred in and out of a particular
CI controller? (If there's a way to get this
data on a per-node basis, that'd be spectacular)

The Answer is :

 
  The OpenVMS Wizard suggests using the kilobytes mapped counters
  available in DECamds and similar tools -- these counters will
