DDIF to TIFF Conversion? (CDA)

The Question is:

 
VMS 5.4-2
Is there a simple method of converting my scanned ddif image files to tiff?
I have heard it can be done.  We would like to do it in house with a minimum
of cost.

The Answer is :

 
  The Compound Document Architecture (CDA) converter library supported a
  variety of converters, including DDIF to TIFF.  DECwindows includes a
  version of the CDA library, see the CONVERT/DOCUMENT and CDA_Converter
