DECnet-Plus NCL syntax differences?

The Question is:

 
in NCL, in an ALPHA system, I can specify a list of service nodes that I can
assign to a specific remote dte class.
 
However, on a VAX system, I can only specify one connector node. The VAX
version of OPENVMS does not have the option to set a list of service nodes.
 
Why?

The Answer is :

 
  The Wizard suspects the answer is lost in the mists of time.
 
  The chances of the OpenVMS VAX DECnet-Plus implementation being
  altered to follow the OpenVMS Alpha interface is believed minimal.
