The Question is: Dear Mr. Wizard, My question refers to tracking user activity and user logins. I found the same question in the previously asked questions but never really answered the question. Where are these utilities and system services? Where can I find them? I'm working on vers ion 5.0 and cannot find them in any of my manuals or on this site. Would you point me in the direction of where they might be or email me the commands needed? We need this A.S.A.P. becasue we're tracking the time of a consultant. Thank you for your tim e. Sincerely, Michael Giannott Systems Analyst IXNet, Inc. The Answer is : "ASAP"? Per the Ask The Wizard rules, please do not ask questions that are time-critical or business-critical -- please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center directly with these questions. V5.0 is roughly decade old -- V7.2 is the current OpenVMS release. The oldest release eligible for Prior Version Support is presently V5.5-2. Please upgrade. If you cannot upgrade, please acquire documentation -- though this will be non-trivial, given the age of the release in use. Accounting and auditing are the tools most commonly used to track access to the system. Commands include ACCOUNTING and ANALYZE/AUDIT, with auditing just becoming available in V5.0.
