Application Performance: Batch vs Interactive?

The Question is:

 
A sql query on Vax/VMS, run interactively has no problem. But when run
through a batch takes almost 3 times the time it takes if run interactively.
I have upgraded the batch priority to 4 and readjusted UAF and PQL
parameters but still performance in batc
h mode is much the same. Any suggestions as to the  areas I need to look at

The Answer is :

 
  It would appear that there are differences between the process quotas,
  process priority, and/or process working set of the batch process and
  those of the interactive processes.
 
  Without specific information on the process quotas, on the system PQL
  parameters, on the batch queue settings, on the specific SQL package,
  and otherwise, further discussion is difficult at best.
