The Question is:

 
I am a student working in a group to enhance an existing network monitoring
system for a client.  Their host management station is running Digital Unix
v4.0D with Polycenter Manager on NetView.  We are looking to provide more
support to their local and of
fsite nodes running OpenVMS Alpha O/S v7.1-1h2. The network is based on SNMP
v2.  We are looking for a module that when compiled under VMS will send an
SNMP trap, of a user configurable value,  to the PolyCentre Netview
workstation. Does such a function a
lready exists?  We do not wish to reinvent the wheel!

The Answer is :

 
  An eSNMP MIB is available for OpenVMS, starting in OpenVMS V7.2,
  and TCP/IP versions V4.1 and later include eSNMP support -- TCP/IP
  version V5.0 is the current revision.
