Problems with DECwindows pause screen?

The Question is:

 
Hi,
i4m using an Alphaserver1200 with CDE desktop.
The problem is, when i lock the console by using
the lock symbol, i can not switch back to the
CDE Desktop. The "Enter Password" icon is
displayed but i can4t enter anything. The only
thing i can do is pressing the reset button...
Is this a VMS 7.1 bug? Or am i using the wrong
keyboard (LK461-AL) ?

The Answer is :

 
  First acquire and install the available DECwindows ECO kit -- there are
  ECO kits for both V1.2-3 and V1.2-4.  Make sure you have run a pass of
  AUTOGEN with FEEDBACK, with any old and unsubstantiated cruft cleaned
  out of MODPARAMS.DAT beforehand.  If these do not resolve the problem,
  please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center.  Expect to be asked
  information about the graphics controller in use, among other questions.
