DECwindows no graphics devices found error?

The Question is:

 
I'm trying to install openVMS 7.2 on an old Alpha 3000 / 400 workstation.
After installation I get the message
 
%DECW$DEVICE-I-NODEVICE, no graphics devices found
 
and DECWindows obviously doesn't startup.  What am I missing here???

The Answer is :

 
  Assuming that the system parameter WINDOW_SYSTEM is set to the appropriate
  value (1) and you have not disabled device autoconfiguration as part of the
  system startup, please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center.  You will
  need to identify the particular graphics controller in use here, as well
  as the version and ECO level of DECwindows.
