Help with VT terminal hardware error?

The Question is:

 
I have a VT420 terminal, which on power on stops and displays the message :
VT420 keyboard error-4
the screen LED on the keyboard does not light up.
 
Please tell me the cause & what I can do to remedy this.

The Answer is :

 
  This is not an OpenVMS error, this appears to be a hardware error.
 
  The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you have verified the connections,
  and that you have considered swapping the keyboard for a keyboard
  of the same or compatible series, and swapping the entire terminal
  for a working terminal.
