Problems with screen displays on V6.2?

The Question is:

 
We recently upgraded our Vax Clusters (6640 & 7640) from VMS V6.1 to VMS
V6.2  Now we are seeing all types of problems with terminal displays.  We
use alot of code which has
"$ set term/inquire" in the code.  Dumb terminals which are connecting via
lat that are setup as vt100's are having a problem with the screen painting
only half the screen and then the terminal beeps continuosuly.  We are
seeing another problem that invol
ves KEA V5 users only (V4.3 works fine)in which the terminal somewhere in
our code is changing the terminal type to a VT100 and the defined function
keys no longer work.  We would prefer to correct the issue on the VMS side,
rather than go through every p
rocedure to correct this.
 
I have logged a call with support, but I have found your column very helpful
in the past and hope that you may be able to help.
