FTP and directory confusion?

The Question is:

 
Hi,
 
We're trying to get files from a Alpha machine
running VMS using ftp.
The client site uses the ftp program
that comes with Lan Workplace (client 32)
running DOS 6.22. The problem is that a
get doesn't work.
 
VMS seems to think it is a directory.
 
A put of mkdir works file and even
if one puts a file the get doesn't work. The
TCP version is v4.2. (By the way it does work
on a other site using v4.1.?.)
 
Any clues?

The Answer is :

 
  Acquire and apply the ECO kit for the TCP/IP Services version in use,
  and also check for any ECOs for the Microsoft environment.
 
  If the problem persists, please contact the Compaq Customer Support
  Center.
 
  Expect to be asked details of the commands used, as well as details
  of the environment and versions and ECOs in use.
