The Question is: Dear Wizard, I wrote a couple of months ago regarding indexed RMS record locks. In particular, I was wondering how we can identify the PID that has a record locked so that other processes can access the record. You responded at that time that you would take a look at it and come back with an answer. Have you had any luck yet? Thanks! Kevin King The Answer is : DECamds would be the immediate choice of the OpenVMS Wizard. This tool is separately installed, but is licensed with OpenVMS. The application can also be recoded to only hold the record lock for a specified interval, before forcing the record accessor to reload the data and try again. More quickly. In addition to the use of DECamds, the use of various new lock-related commands added in SDA in V7.2 may be of interest.
