Y2K compatibility?

The Question is:

 
We have the Y2K patch for open vms that we will be appling in the near
future.  We also have the latest patched version of Dec Basic 1.3 to also
install.  We do not want to install both of these at the same time.
Therefore will Dec basic version 1.2 run
on open VMS once the upgrade has been done???

The Answer is :

 
  The OpenVMS Y2K readiness patch does not particularly alter the behaviour
  of OpenVMS, save for the (minor) areas specified in the release notes.
 
  The OpenVMS Wizard would not expect the Y2K readiness kit to affect the
  behaviour of other installed packages -- an unrelated change made in the
  DEC C RTL installed in conjunction with the Y2K readiness kit is the only
  incompatibility that the OpenVMS Wizard is immediately aware of, this DEC
  C change uncovered a problem in the DECwindows use of C.  (A DECwindows
  ECO is required to resolve this, and is included in the DECwindows Y2K
  readiness kit.)
