Problems with old DECwindows Motif desktop?

The Question is:

 
VMS Version : V7.1.1-H2
Problem with the new desktop.
We're trying to have the old desktop as the
default one when loggin.
We have set DECW$start_new_desktop to FALSE.
In the file : DECW$SERVER_0_ERROR.log,
we have the following traces :
Calling the dispatcher
vmsscreenclose : Closing screen down
 
And then we completely loose control until
we change back DECW$start_new_desktop to TRUE.
 
Is there a patch to coorect that problem,
because we don't want to start in the
new desktop, our applications are
not compatible.

The Answer is :

 
  The OpenVMS has tested the operation of this on DECwindows Motif V1.2-4
  on OpenVMS V7.2, and has verified correct operation.  The OpenVMS Wizard
  would recommend an upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2 or later, and would
  recommend a move off the V7.1-1H1 and V7.1-1H2 hardware releases.
 
  Please remember to specify relevent product versions and ECO levels when
  asking questions.  Knowing the particular graphics controller could also
  be of interest.  If you are not sure of your DECwindows version, please
  use the command:
 
    $ @sys$update:decw$versions x
 
  If it has not already been done, please apply the available ECO kit for
  the particular version of DECwindows Motif in use.
 
  ECO kits are available from:
 
    http://search.service.digital.com/
 
  Also remember to use periodic passes of AUTOGEN with FEEDBACK, remember
  to clean the "cruft" out of MODPARAMS.DAT, and to replace any absolute
  assignments with relative (ADD_, MIN_, or MAX_) where ever possible.
 
  If the problem persists after the application of the ECO kit, please
