The Question is: We have a production system (2 Micro Vaxs)that were upgraded for y2k by the people that created the system. We installed VAXY2K01_U2055, and everything went fine. I even ran a y2k test by setting the system to 12-31-1999:23:30:0. Everything went fine, and I was happy with the patch. I then installed the same patch on our 7610's (All systems running same version of VMS). When I brought them up, our programs that run detatched would not run. When I dug into it I found that I should have installed VOLSHAD09. I then found that people have had problems with the VOLSHAD09 patch. We were able to fix the detatched problem by boosting quotas. We are running volume shadowing on the 7610's, and was wondering if I could install the VOLSHAD09 patch, and then just reinstall the VAXY2K01 kit? I was also wondering since the Micro Vax's passed the test, if there is any reason to install the VOLSHAD09 patch? Thank you, John Morley The Answer is : If you are operating with volume shadowing, you should have the current volume shadowing ECO kits applied to all nodes. If you have access to DSN -- the support network -- you can acquire the list of recommended ECO kits by searching for articles with the word "incorporated" in the title. These articles include the list of ECO kits incorporated in the release, and those that need to be installed.
