Archive BACKUP and tape loaders?

The Question is:

 
I am trying to use ABS V2.2 (Archive/Backup system) with 2 TZ877-AE tape
loader subsystems on a AXP 7620 VMS 7.1.  The software loaded ok and the
command interfaces work.
I cannot get the loader magazines to be recognized.  I have checked &
reconfigured the MDMS subsystem - with the same results.
 
How can I control the magazine to load tapes from specific slots?
