The Question is: What are the main differences between OpenVMS 6.1 and 6.2 and between OpenVMS 6.2 and 7.1. Is there somewhere on the website where the features of the different versions is easily displayed? The Answer is : The differences among OpenVMS releases are listed in the release notes and the new features manuals for the intervening and target OpenVMS releases -- the OpenVMS Wizard is not aware of a website that specifically calls out the complete list of differences and enhancements. The majority of recent enhancements to OpenVMS have targeted the OpenVMS Alpha platform, not OpenVMS VAX -- on the OpenVMS VAX platform, there are no significant kernel-mode differences made among the V6.1, V6.2, V7.0, V7.1, and V7.2 releases -- both user-mode and even kernel-mode software should continue to operate over upgrades through this range of OpenVMS VAX releases. The OpenVMS Wizard believes the appropriate approach is to acquire and read the new features and release notes manuals, and determine what new features are of interest to your specific environment. The OpenVMS Wizard will suggest to OpenVMS Product Management that a list of significant features be maintained -- the documentation that most resembles that requested is available at: http://www.openvms.digital.com/openvms/os/openvms-release-history.html
