The Question is: I've got a HP DeskJet 550C attached to a HP JetDirect EX Plus print server, which is set up with its own IP address. For some reason, the printer does not print a form feed at the end of the print job, so the last page has to be ejected. Here's the vers ion information: Digital TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V4.1 on a AlphaServer 1000A 5/400 running OpenVMS V7.1 Here's the SYS$SPECIFIC:[UCX_LPD]UCX$PRINTCAP.DAT: # LOCAL PRINTERS UCX$LPD_QUEUE:\ :lp=UCX$LPD_QUEUE:\ :sd=UCX$LPD_SPOOL: HPDJ1_QUEUE|hpdj1_queue|HPDJ1_QUEUE:\ :lf=/SYS$SPECIFIC/UCX_LPD/HPDJ1_QUEUE.LOG:\ :lp=HPDJ1_QUEUE:\ :rm=hpdj1.mycompany.com:\ :rp=text:\ :sd=/SYS$SPECIFIC/UCX_LPD/HPDJ1_QUEUE:\ :fo=1: Finally, here's the queue definition: Server queue HPDJ1_QUEUE, idle, on MYCO::"hpdj1.mycompany.com", mounted form DEFAULT /AUTOSTART_ON=(MYCO::"hpdj1.ckfinc.com") /BASE_PRIORITY=4 /DEFAULT=(FEED, FORM=DEFAULT) /OWNER=[SYSTEM] /PROCESSOR=UCX$LPD_SMB /PROTECTION=(S:M,O:D,G:R,W:S) /SEPARATE=(RESET=(RESET)) Any ideas? It works if I set the JetDirect to print a trailing banner page, which forces the form feed. However, that would be a big waste of paper here, where we print a lot of one page jobs. Thanks. The Answer is : First, acquire and install a more recent version of TCP/IP Services, move to V4.2 with the current ECO or (better) V5.0. Then look at previous discussions of the device control library, specifically looking at what would be required to create such a library (SYSDEVCTL.TLB) if necessary, and what printer command sequence would be needed to be generated at the end of the job or as part of the printer reset module -- the current print queue definition does declare the use of a reset module, what is in it? If you are unable to resolve this from other discussions here in Ask the Wizard and from the above suggestions, please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center directly.
