The Question is: I have a new 4100 running OpenVMS 7.2. I can't get DECWindows running on the console. DECWindows does run fine on this system using other Xterms. In SRM Ive set the ostype to OpenVMS, the tta0_type to vidio and console to graphics. The AlphaBIOS routine s paint the screen with MSwindows, so I'm sure the S3 graphics card is working fine, but when VMS is booted, the console stays in roll screen mode and DECWindows doesn't start. Am I missing a device driver? Is the WINDOW_SYSTEM system parameter set to 1? (Set in MODPARAMS.DAT, and a subsequent pass of AUTOGEN with FEEDBACK has then been run?) If so, please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center.
