The Question is:

 
Hi
      I have a alpha 1000a server with openvms 7.1H-1.I need to connect a
remote pc with win95 to this server through dialup/ppp.The pc is connected
to this server's serial port through modem.By dialup connection now I am
able to login also(by rs232). But
 I require link
with tcp/ip/ppp..Pls let me know what all proceedures I follow at Alpha
Server(Ovms) side to establish this connection.
   This is required since my s/w at pc side will work only if I can able to
ping to the server.

The Answer is :

 
  Please see SYS$COMMON:[SYSHLP.EXAMPLES.PPPD...]*.PS and *.TXT.
 
  Also realize that OpenVMS PPP does not support RAS authentication, and
  -- though it might appear otherwise based on available but currently
  non-functional configuration settings -- there is no way to disable the
  requirement for RAS authentication in Windows platforms.
