HP OpenVMS Systemsask the wizard |
The Question is: I have a web site that is served via an Apache 1.3.6 server but the resulting 503 server side error message listed a result that is so familiar to VMS: Service Unavailable HTTP status code: 503 %RMS-E-CRE, ACP file create failed I am assuming the information referenced in the actual site is comming from a Digital(tm) machine with VMS of undetermined version. I could wildy guess that a file/directory corruption or overfragmentation took place but it would be nice to actually dig deeper and see if I can unearth the root of this. The Answer is : The Apache web server is presently in field test on OpenVMS. If the site returning the error is not under your control, please contact the webmaster or system manager for the site for assistance. If you are the web master for the Apache site, please check the logs for the web server for errors as a start. ACP file creation failure errors can have a variety of causes (eg: disk full, exceeded disk quota), and there are usually one or more "secondary" error messages associated with the CRE failure. These "secondary" messages can provide additional details.
