Available OpenVMS upgrade paths?

The Question is:

 
can I upgrade from V. 6.1 to 7.1-2 at once or do I need to do it in steps?

The Answer is :

 
  There is no OpenVMS VAX V7.1-2 release available, though the "adjacent"
  OpenVMS VAX releases V7.1 and V7.2 are available -- V7.1-2 is available
  only on OpenVMS Alpha.
 
  The OpenVMS Wizard would strongly encourage you to acquire and to read
  through the _OpenVMS Alpha Version 7.1-2 Release Notes and Installation
  Procedures Manual_.  This manual will answer this and other questions,
  and can save you time and effort when upgrading.  That said, you can
  upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2 from any of the following releases:
 
    V6.1, V6.2, V6.2-1H1, V6.2-1H2, V6.2-1H3, V7.1, V7.1-1H1, V7.1-1H2.
 
  Information on upgrading to V7.1 and V7.2 is covered in the OpenVMS
  Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).  (The V7.1-2 information will be
